It's time to revise
Had better be wise With a month to go Best start tomorrow Sit down write a plan Stick to it young man Read notes and mind map Not to worry or to flap Remember to exercise Getting natural highs Will help you be happy Which is the vital key To achieve exam success Revise more and not less Put your hand on your heart Make a promise to study smart Plan your work, work your plan Be the person who says,'I can!' How well in your exams you do Now is really entirely up to you So be wise, and don't be a fool Not to revise, sure is not cool So better start early tomorrow To avoid any after exam sorrow Mr Richard We are now in week 9 and your end of first term exam start in week 12. Not long to go - only about three weeks! Here are some materials which can help you prepare for your exams: 1) Top Tips for Revision 2) A 'Revision Tips' Mind Map (Updated) If you click on the above links you will be able to view them better and be able to download them to your computer. Revision 6P's: Proper planning and preparation prevents poor performance. Do's Start early, plan your revision, prepare a timetable. Each revision session should be about 30-35 minutes with a break for 5 minutes before the next revision session begins. Don'ts Don't 'burn the midnight oil' by staying up late at night to revise. 'Cramming', trying to do lots of revision in the last few days before an exam is not wise. This leads to confusion and worry, so start your revision programme earlier, and not later. Environment Your study area should be quiet, comfortable (not too comfortable), not too warm or too cold, have good lighting (preferably natural light) and have good ventilation for fresh air (open windows) - this is the ideal environment for revising. Health Look after yourself by eating well, drinking plenty of water, exercising every day, getting plenty of fresh air and by sleeping well. Big Day On the day of the exam, read the exam instructions and questions carefully and do the easiest questions first. Leave enough time for each question and once you have finished the exam, check your answers and make any changes where necessary. Believe in yourself and in your ability to do well - be confident. Good luck! The above has been summarised in the following 'Revision Tips' mind map: Another mind map on revision: This mind map is free to download:
Revision Mind Map - 6W's This is a mind map plan for a short composition about football. Football
Football is a popular team sport played by many people. It is played on a grass pitch but it can be played nearly anywhere (like a beach, on a quiet road or on a school playground). Players wear a jersey, a pair of shorts, long socks, a pair of boots and shin pads. Goal keepers wear gloves as well. There are 11 players in each team. They play for 45 minutes then have a break. Afterwards they change ends and play for another 45 minutes. The team that scores more goals wins. Players use their feet to kick the ball. They can also use their head, chest, legs and knees but only goal keepers can use their hands to stop players from scoring. 124 words |
