The end of the school year is now just around the corner! It's not long before you begin your well-earned long summer vacation. Before that time comes you have your end of term exams to complete.
Your exam paper has been written and the format is the same as the previous end of term exams that you have taken.
There are four sections:
Section A: Grammar (50 marks)
You should know:
the parts of speech
suffixes
auxiliary verbs (can/may/shall/will/could/have to/used to)
punctuation (capital letters, commas, speech marks, full stops, question marks and exclamation marks)
clauses (main clauses, adjective and adverb clauses)
sentences (compound and complex)
improving sentences
Section B: Comprehension (20 marks)
There is one short passage to read which has six multiple choice questions to answer, and four words to find - to match to four meanings.
The comprehension is based on one of the topics that has been discussed in class this term.
Top tip: Read the comprehension passages that you have already done this term.
Section C: Vocabulary (30 marks)
Not a lot to say here. The questions are similar to the ones in your weekly tests.
Nine words to match to meanings and seven sentences to be written using seven selected words from this term's weekly vocabulary lists.
Section D: Composition (20 marks)
You will be asked to write a composition of about 120 words. There is a choice of two compositions.
You are expected to plan your composition by making notes before you begin writing your composition.
You will be awarded marks for punctuation, grammar, spelling, organisation and presentation (handwriting).
Look through the homework compositions you have written this term.
These are the written assignments given to you this term:
Being a Teacher (Advantages and Disadvantages)
Dream Job (Describe the job/ What qualities are needed/Why?)
Message in a Bottle
School Trip (Posting a comment)
Dream Holiday
